Enhanced Online Presence for Carmel Auction House

logo-wickliffJANUARY 8, 2014- Wickliff Auctioneers of Carmel, IN, announced today that an all-new, more powerful, custom web site has been unveiled, providing buyers and sellers of fine art, fine jewelry, antiques and antique arms a more efficient portal for accessing the company’s sale information.

Designed by AuctionServices.com, Inc, of Roanoke, VA, the new site is more ‘Google-friendly’ (with enhanced SEO capabilities), and provides a consistent display format for both upcoming and past auctions.  In addition, the new site is a responsive site, meaning that the old format of displaying ‘full’ and ‘mobile’ versions of the site is now obsolete.

“We’re finding that more and more of our buyers and sellers are accessing our site using mobile devices,” said Darin Lawson, Wickliff Auctioneers President and Senior Auctioneer. “One of our goals for this new design was that all the content that was available on the full site would also be available for any person using their smartphone or tablet, rather than making the individual choose between mobile or full display formats.”

Lawson also stated that another primary goal for the site was a user-friendly interface that was clean, simple and easy to navigate.  “Our current client base have commented on the ease of navigation of our previous two site designs, so a clean, easy-to-use site was another area of importance for us.”

The new site also includes a blog-style news area in which upcoming featured auction items can be displayed in detail.  In addition, the new format provides the opportunity to relate the stories of some of the unique estates with whom the company often works, providing more ‘sticky content’ to the site.

Another feature offered by AuctionServices.com, Inc., is their Ignite ™ auction listing service.  Auctions posted on the company’s web site will now automatically transfer to state and national auction association web sites, as well as other auction-related portals, including the increasingly popular www.auctionzip.com.  In addition, the new site offers an RSS feed to which users can subscribe via social media to be notified when new auction information is posted.

Lawson stated that the company began search engine marketing campaigns in 2013 and an aggressive search-engine optimization campaign in 2012, with those efforts yielding an increase in site traffic, as well as an increasing number of site visitors wishing to have their items evaluated.  He described the new web site as the next step forward in the company’s position as a trusted, regional auction house providing an international market for sellers.

Wickliff Auctioneers is located at 12232 Hancock Street, Carmel, IN, and is recognized as an industry leader in the sale of fine art, fine jewelry and antiques.  Monthly, catalogued auctions are conducted at the company’s Carmel showroom, and in 2014, the company announced the addition of semi-annual firearms auctions, slated to include antique and modern arms and militaria.  More information is available at www.wickliffauctioneers.com or by calling 317-844-7253.
