Gallery Auctions

Robert Wadsworth GraftonWickliff Auctioneers is nationally-known for monthly, catalogued auctions in our gallery which often include the following:

  • Fine art, specializing in historic Indiana art and historic regional, American art from listed artists
  • Period antiques and decorative arts
  • Fine jewelry, estate jewelry and watches
  • Antique Arms and Militaria, Quality Modern Firearms

Auctions are conducted 12 to 15 times per year in our gallery, and online catalogues are posted approximately 7 to 10 days prior to each event. Consignments are accepted by appointment only. On-Location Auctions

Where the client’s needs are best served by an on-site auction, Wickliff Auctioneers has the staff, expertise and experience to conduct an auction at the home or site where personal property is located. In most cases, the on-location auction will include the sale of the real property, as well. Onsite technology, cataloguing, shelter arrangements and catering can all be coordinated by the Wickliff Auctioneers staff. Tag Sales

Exclusive marketing for unique property
For some clients, the auction method may not be the best option for marketing certain merchandise, and the in-place presentation of these items may be the best setting.

For these unique situations, we offer our professional staff to conduct an on-site Tag Sale, wherein all items are priced and offered for sale, usually over a one to three-day period of time.

In most cases, items which would best be marketed via Gallery Auction are relocated to our facility prior to the tag sale event. By offering both services, we offer clients more options for successful sale of items in a setting which offers the highest return in the least time, having been marketed to the most appropriate potential customer. Pre-Auction Evaluations
Thank you for allowing Wickliff Auctioneers to evaluate your property through our Online Estimate service, focused on properties that meet our consignment terms and quality standards. This evaluation service requires that your property meet our minimum consignment value of $200 for a personal response with a valuation estimate. If your property is below this threshold or is not property we can sell for you, we are unable to provide personalized estimates. We will respond as soon as possible after receiving your request. If you have not received a response within 3 business days, please contact us to ensure we received your information.
  • Please provide a brief description of the item you wish to have appraised (including any title, artist/maker, or other descriptive information).
  • Please describe the medium or material(s) used in the piece (e.g., oil or watercolor painting, oak or maple table, porcelain or earthenware plate, etc.).
  • What are the dimensions (inches, feet, centimeters)? Measure height x width (x depth, if applicable). If a painting or print, please exclude the frame size.
  • Is there a signature, date, or any kind of markings? If so, please describe (if partial or unreadable, put what you can decipher or take a clear photo).
  • In what condition is the property? Describe any damage or wear (tears, stains, holes, cracks, dents, etc.). Is there any evidence of repair or restoration?
  • What is the provenance/history of the piece? Where did you obtain it (inherited, original owner, purchased from antique store/auction house/dealer)?
